In our July 2015 LMU(update), LMU Magazine’s monthly email to alumni, we challenged readers to send us a funny caption for one of our favorite photos from LMU’s past. The winning caption comes from Dennis Rowse ’76, whose major as a student was biology. In addition to lots of clever captions, some of which spurred bursts of laughter, the truthful details about the photo, from Mary Leah Plante, R.S.H.M., pleasantly surprised us. The photograph was taken Aug. 17, 1989, at the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Community Center, located at the corner of 85th St. and Loyola Boulevard, an apartment building for elderly sisters. The photo was a thank-you sent to William H. Hannon as a way to show appreciation for the chairs, which he had given to the community of nuns.
